I just recently went to Bar Harbor for the first time. I am a coffee fiend so I checked yelp to help me find the perfect coffee little coffee shop and the reviews on coffee hound did not steer me wrong. Their rocky road iced coffee was out of this world. Not to mention the wonderful customer service! I can't wait to come back on my next trip to Bar Harbor.

We stopped in for a coffee and a quick lunch while on a New England road trip. Between my roommate and I, we ordered clam chowder and a mini spinach quiche. She also had the Acadia turtle, and I had a flat white. The chowder was wonderful--filling and filled with clams; it was perfect after a rainy day in the park. The quiche suffered from being out of the oven for so long but was otherwise okay. The flat white and Acadia turtle were both lovely. The service in particular was great. The owner was incredibly friendly and gave us great coffee recommendations. Definitely a place we'd return to!
(5)Chris G.
Would not recommend. Friendly staff, but both the mocha and the chai were incredibly syrupy - worse than Starbucks in that regard. I'll be looking elsewhere for coffee.
(3)Al B.
I give this place a five star for two reasons...one is their dark roast coffee (whole bean) is one of the best coffee blends I've ever had and I've had my fair share. A blend of three coffee bean origins which is not easy to do and get such a great result only shows their knowledge of coffee and not just some hack as many coffee houses/cafe's seem to be. The second yet main reason is their incredible customer service attitude, especially Chris, incredibly upbeat and attentive to each customer's needs. I love talking coffee like some guys talk sports and it was a pleasure to converse with Chris whose coffee knowledge was very impressive. This is our new must come back destination when we return next year.

I tried a few different coffees from here when I visited and they were all awesome! I'm a big fan of cold brew and there's was really good and that's coming from someone who is really picky :) I enjoyed their cherry something or other iced coffee with the amaretto in it, so delicious. It was a little sweet for someone who usually drinks black coffee, but it was a nice change of pace. All the employees seemed super happy and the vibe was super cute. It was definitely a place I wish we would've spent a little more time, maybe hung out here on a couple of mornings or something. I'll definitely be back again next time I visit Bar Harbor!

Coffee Hound is a small skinny spot on Main Street. They offer a few seating options, but we came for the blueberry pocket to go. We located those in a clear pastry case by the counter, labeled "Traveling Pie Maine Blueberry." At $3 iirc apiece, they seemed a tad slim for the price. We enjoyed them the next morning as we watched the sunrise over Cadillac Mountain. They were tasty, but the pastry to filling ratio was a bit high. 4 stars for the Coffee Hound; 3 stars for the pies, for a 3.5 average.

Yelp pointed us in the right direction again! Based on the reviews I read, we decided to give them the opportunity to impress us. Well, impress us, they did. Their shop is small. Not much seating is available. We were lucky to grab two spots while we there. Did not want to eat outside because it was raining. #1 on my list to try was their Lobster Roll!! Found it hard to believe that a tasty Lobster Roll could be found in a coffee shop. Have to say that it was one of the best Lobster Rolls that we have ever eaten anywhere! The butter toasted roll was filled to the rim with delicious knuckle and claw lobster meat! Clam Chowder was also very good. Went well with the Lobster Roll. Both of them were the best we had on that trip to the East Coast. Cadillac Cooler. What a refreshing name for a beverage. Coffee Hound is home to this wonderful drink. It is blueberry soda that is blended with lemon sorbet, and it is topped off with whip. Does not disappoint and is also a must try!! So, when in Bar Harbor, Maine....I highly recommend stopping in at Coffee Hound. Maybe you will be just as impressed as we were.

While strolling on Main Street in Bar Harbor, my friend and I encountered this cafe by chance. What really attracted us was their smoothie and coffee drinks. We immediately bookmarked this place to come back the very next day. And yes, We returned the very next day for breakfast, we ordered the Blueberry Pie, Lobster Rolls, Clam Chowder, Smoothies, Cadillac Cooler, Lemonade, Iced Coffee, and the Acadia Turtle Mocha. To my biggest surprise, the cafe's food was amazing here! If you love blueberries, the Blueberry Pie and muffins are just for you. Fresh Wild Maine Blueberries aroma in each pastry and it tasted very homemade; which was a major plus. To me Wild Maine Blueberries have a distinct earthy taste and much more flavorful than other blueberries I had before. Lobster Rolls were incredibly delicious and was loaded with lobster meat. The roll may appear to be small but it is so buttery and so good. I loved that the lobster meat was not overly mixed with creamy mayo, in fact its light and taste much fresher. It does not need to load up on condiments to make it taste better because the natural fresh lobster meat is already good. Clam Chowder had the right thickness and clams' natural sweetness that simply makes one cup not enough. Lemonade drinks are fresh and lemony, add the mango in and you have just created the best summer time drink. Iced coffee is strong in flavor and can keep any all-nighter like me up! Acadia Turtle Mocha is one of their specialty drinks. Hazelnut and caramel infused with mocha. It is so tasty and I can't help but have to overlook the amount of calories that I will be consuming! Coffee Hound is a fantastic breakfast stop before leaving Bar Harbor. Staff are extremely friendly and very eager to strike up conversations with us. Great drinks, great food, and great people. It is no wonder this spot earns consecutive five-star reviews. Well-deserved!

I would come to Coffee Hound every morning if I worked in Bar Harbor. The coffee brews are solid, as well as the pastries. For a treat, they also offer a variety of specialty coffee-based drinks, like Rocky Road, and even a lobster roll.
(5)Jamin M.
I love coffee. This place is really has good coffee. I ordered a flat white coffee that was fantastic. I had to wait 3 more minutes so he gave me a free blueberry turnover. Great customer service. I want to come back for the lobster roll.
(5)Grahame G.
I'd checked this place on Yelp before arriving, and so had to put the claim that it was the best coffee in town to the test. It's pretty small, just a long streak shoehorned in at the end of a row of shops, so there's not much in the way of seating. If the weather's nice, you're best to take away and sit in the park across the street. They do a pretty mean lobster roll (after 3 days in town I am of course an expert on the subject, right?), with plenty of filling. The coffee I would rate at 4.5 stars on the US-Glasgow coffee comparison sliding scale that I've just this second invented, that equates to 3 Glasgow stars. Still the best I've found in Bar Harbor though.
(5)Ermelindo F.
Everything was amazing! The best Lobster Roll in Maine. The bread was warm and it complimented the cold Lobster perfectly. The Clam Chowder was very good as well although I will say the underwhelming size of the container is disappointing in comparison to other places in the area. The Flat White coffee is so amazing It took me an hour to drink it as I wanted to enjoy every moment of it. Excellent customer service as well as they cleared up a small misunderstanding in no time. Overall, this should be the first, and last place you visit before leaving Bar Harbor. Highly recommended!
(5)Charles R.
So we did our yearly trip to Bar Harbor. It drizzled on the way up, while we were there and on the way back. The high point of the trip was Coffee Hound. Nice coffee but really perfect blueberry muffins. Only way to have better is to make it yourself
(5)Carroll R.
The coffee was excellent and the service friendly. I liked this quirky place, but the music wasn't my type. It wasn't too loud, so I still stayed in to drink. The coffee's quality made up for the sounds. I would direct anyone under 30 -or young in heart- to try this place.
(5)Elizabeth A.
Awesome! The coffee, quiche, and blueberry traveling pie... Yum! My husband I stopped in here on our last day of our honeymoon and everyone from the woman working the counter to the maher/owner was super friendly.
(5)Sara A.
I only went in here once on my trip to Bar Harbor, but the iced latte was AMAZING. It was probably the best latte I've ever had. It was banana, hazelnut and chocolate with a clever name. I'm writing this review from my boring desk and daydreaming about sitting in the park staring at the harbor drinking that latte... It was an incredible taste, not too sweet and perfectly flavored. However, it was pretty darn expensive. I looked at my credit card statement after and found I spent over 7 bucks on this thing. It was good, but I'm a natural born cheapskate and it was a little too expensive for me to indulge more than once. If I was rich I would drink these six times a day with extra whipped cream. 4 stars not for taste, but for price.
(4)Lauren N.
You may come for coffee but you need to stay for the lobster roll. I was skeptical of this place being too "touristy" but it fooled me. Very charming! I ordered one of the specialty coffees, paid and then sat down. I was then staring at the menu again and saw "lobster roll". I became curious because there really isn't any other food on the menu besides pastries. Long story short, all the other yelp reviews about this lobster roll are true! It's out of this world. You MUST get it even if it's before 11am ;) The owner was there during my visit and I had no doubt in my mind he loves what he does. This cute coffee joint is pet friendly too! Coffee hound made my morning. I love their logo too!
(5)Jeremia F.
I came here for coffee and was very pleased with their excellent take on a Cortado. This is an example of what having a great attitude can do to make your institution excel. Very fast and genuinely friendly service. I would recommend coffee here or the other five star place I'm going to review.
(5)Silky F.
If you enjoy awesome coffee, good yummy yummy food and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must. The owner Chris will make you feel as if you're an old friend. Both him and his daughter are charming friendly and knowledgable. I will always come back here! Thanks Chris! P.S. Thanks for sharing your magic ointment for the burn on my hand!!
(5)Erin E.
Nice little shop with a great cup of coffee. The owner clearly took pride in his business. He took the time to joke with us and ask about our experience. He answered my questions about how they prepare their lobster rolls--I had never tried one before. Returned later to buy one and it was fantastically delicious. The lobster was the perfect flavor & texture, with no bits of tough meat. Will definitely go back.
(5)Simone W.
So I may have only had around ten lobster rolls in my southern city girl life, but I doubt I'll ever find one better than this place. The owner is hilarious and generous. He told us the story of his grandmother's recipe for this little piece of heaven then topped it off with a complimentary travelers blueberry pie. Mmmm. Everything was wonderful. Who knew a coffee shop would be the highlight of my trip to Bar Harbor? Do not miss this place during your travels.
(5)Rachel R.
Long lines that are worth the quick wait. Fantastic coffee, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The dog theme spoke to my heart as a dog lover as well.
(4)Carly L.
Seems silly to write a five star review for coffee, but people are serious about their caffeine and Coffee Hound is definitely more than just coffee. For starters, this place had me hooked when the owner was at the restaurant, talking to customers, and in the back, making drinks and making sandwiches - that's a well-run small business! Following Yelp review protocol, my husband got the lobster roll and Cadillac cooler, while I got a sugar-free iced caramel latte and a blueberry muffin. My husband had it right. The lobster roll was generously stuffed with knuckle and claw meat, tossed lightly with mayonnaise, and topped with spices - really good lobster roll. On the side, the Cadillac Cooler was unique, light, and perfect for a hot Bar Harbor tourist.
(5)Allison P.
Fun, friendly, knowledgeable team at the Coffee Hound. Stopped in for a much needed caffeinated beverage. Couldn't have picked a better place in Bar Harbor for a delicious drink in a warm ambiance.
(5)York Y.
After a meal at Great Maine Breakfast, we were looking for a coffee place along the lines of our favorite, Starbucks. With the help of Yelp, we found Coffee Hound. Great place for coffee, especially if you are in search for something with an artisanal quality. Really friendly owners too!
(5)Benjamin C.
Great lattes! Not super artisan construction, but tasted pretty great. Also, there was a good selection of drip coffees and non-dairy milks. (Almond milk!) Owner was very friendly and talkative and had a conversation with us both times we visited. Very nice to tourists. Didn't try any of their pastries, but they looked fresh and had a good variety. We've visited twice so far and plan to come again.
(5)NY C.
It's a pretty nice coffee shop, and you can't beat the location. The staff are nice and attentive. The prices are reasonable, and they provide an assortment of muffins and other food items.
(4)Philip K.
After a 9 mile hike to the top of Penobscot, I'm pretty sure 5 starts doesnt do this justice. Their quality and creative drink selection hits the spot. We tried iced coffee, and the kids went for an iced mocha and the Cadillac Cooler which is a pretty epic lemonadey blueberry concoction.
(5)Angela H.
Best coffee shop we have found in bar harbor. All the drinks were a hit and good choc. Chip cookies too!
(5)Amy Z.
The coffee here is nothing special but probably the best in Bar Harbor. Friendly staff. Good location by Agamont Park overlooking the harbor.
(4)Kira J.
Come for the excellent! lobster roll and friendly service. Coffee is fine though it is definitely a place specializing in fancy espresso drinks, flavored lattes, and icy freezes. If you're looking for a cup of drip coffee then skip it. Definitely a cute place, and very tiny!
(4)Miko H.
Lots of different choices which is nice. We went back twice. First time we ordered mango smoothie and caramel latte frappe. I asked if they used fresh mango but they said they use puree. The smoothie was good. The caramel latte frappe tasted like pure sugar. It was impossibly sweet. The next day I ordered a vanilla latte and it wasn't sweet at all! I thought they mightve forgotten the vanilla syrup. Hard to gauge the sweetest here. It's either overwhelming or non existent.
(3)John B.
Travelled 2900 miles from California, checked for local coffee shops in Bar Harbor, found Coffee Hound. Ordered my two shot Latte and it was a 5 star result. Staff and owners are personable and will do anything to please. Now if I can just get them to open in Santa Monica to blow out Caffe Luxxe on Montana!
(5)Dee Dee Y.
Very very disappointed. Our first meal at Bar Harbor . Very sad. We felt very mislead by the other Yelp reviews. Lobster roll is kind of fishy. About the same as what I got at panera bread in Boston. Acadia turtle latte is too sweet. Blueberry pie is ok but like high end Pop Tart. Blueberry muffin is very dry and tough like a softball. Go there for coffee but nothing else.
(2)Monty A.
We had coffee bad bagels and quiche. Top notch coffee. Had a red eye which is a shot of espresso ... Bagel was fresh out of oven, quiche made there .., Highly recommend Owner very personable and informative. Stated he has best lobster roll in town.
(5)Bill B.
This is a neat little coffee shop tucked into a narrow building on the main drag of Bar Harbor. The building is deep and you will note this as you walk from the street to the bar area. There is more in this little coffee shop than just the various arrangement of coffees. For example Lobster Rolls. We were there just for coffee which we found to be as good as that served by the "big boys". Service was friendly and quick. We picked up a business card from the place which shows a big dog on the back side of the cute business card.We were there from a cruise ship in the off season and we can image this place will be packed during the tourist season.
(5)Jaimie F.
Great coffee and fanatic service!!!! The staff is great! Get a blueberry take-away pie and give them all your money!!!!!
(5)Dan D.
Their signature drinks are pretty ridiculously good. Their latte was also really good. Nice staff, and nice decor. Definitely worth checking out.
(5)Tawnya B.
Super friendly and helpful. Chai latte was oe of the best non alcoholic drinks i've ever had. Totally on point!
(5)Layne D.
Back again this year & I love this place! It's my go-to for all things coffee. I love the mocha & my kiddos really enjoyed the Cadillac Cooler. I tried the lobster roll this year & I think I can safely say it's the best I've had!
(5)Ron W.
Jen and Chris know their business! They have some great coffee options and a HUGE menu. The double lobster roll is really to die for. They are located right downtown, across from a park with some of the most beautiful views of the ocean. Only drawback is they don't have parking, but they are totally worth a short walk!
(5)Adam M.
Best coffee ever! My wife got an Acadia Carmel turtle and it was amazing! Definitely lives up to the reviews!
(5)Amanda S.
I had the Iced Acadian turtle mocha... Heaven and they have options for lactose intolerant peeps :)
(5)Om T.
Great quick place to grab coffee. They claim to have one of the best lobster rolls in Bar Harbor, so we had to try it. It didn't disappoint. Also we got a hot chocolate for the kids and they split it in 2 cups for us. The clam chowder was a nice surprise too. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend.
(5)Jack B.
Really great experience on multiple trips during our recent visit to Bar Harbor. There are a number of coffee choices in the area but this is the only one that really strikes me as a true cafe. Great service, great coffee, and good food as well. Will definitely be going by again when we go back up to MDI. Keep up the good work!!
(5)Aish S.
Excellent iced coffee and Espresso!! The owner is very sweet and makes sure you enjoy even the few minutes waiting in line to get ur coffee.. Kept going back and bought a coffee for our road trip back to boston!!! Will be back the next time we are in Bar Harbor.
(5)Pamela L.
Coffee Hound is a definite must do in Bar Harbor if you enjoy a not only a rich & delicious latte but also a wonderful atmosphere where the owner makes every customer feel welcome. After all... A good latte is about the entire experience, right? Also... Try the lobster roll. I had avoided them all my life but just had Chris'(his grammy's recipe) and OMG. JUST DO IT!
(5)Brooke M.
My husband and I went to bar harbor for our honeymoon and went here more than a few times! We loved the coffee and my husband usually hates little coffee house coffees, usually only drinks dunkin donuts., he also has never bought a lobster roll from anyplace since when he lobster fishes and can make them or always had his grandmothers. The lobster roll here was delicious! It was made just like my husband grandmother's with just the claw and knuckle. The owner also gave us a blueberry turnover which was delicious, and the Cadillac cooler and Acadia sunrise were amazing as well. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. We will definitely go back here when we visit bar harbor again!
(5)Jee C.
Cute place. Their coffee was decent. Their lobster roll was surprisingly good!! Owner was super friendly :)
(4)Donna H.
Good cup of coffee and an even better lobster roll! Go figure! Chunks of lobster meat and a perfectly toasted bun! Owner is usually there offering up great conversation!
(5)Erin M.
We got an iced soy latte and it was very good! It was pretty pricey though, Starbucks price in a small town. I'm assuming it's because it's tourist season and all the prices get bumped up. The coffee is good and just what we needed while camping.
(4)Susan E.
Day one: Perfect fresh squeezed lemonade. Day 2: Perfect coffee. Day 3: perfect lemonade and iced tea. Day 4: perfect latte. Day 5: perfect fresh squeezed lemonade. And on it went for 5 more! Lovely owner And staff.
(5)Avishek S.
Best coffee in Bar Harbor. I walked in with a cup of coffee from a pizza place nearby to get some raw sugar (instead of white sugar). I also was planning on ordering another coffee and a pastry. After I asked the owner if she had raw sugar, she replied yes and have me two cups; one for the cup of coffee I was ordering and one for another one free of charge. The coffee tasted amazing too, so I'm not go in five stars just because of the service I received, the coffee truly is very good. The one I had in my had could not compare. The traveler's blueberry pie was delicious too.
(5)Ashley A.
Popped in here after reading about it on yelp. Everything about this place is fantastic. The lobster roll is the best I've ever had, hands down. Cadillac cooler was unbelievably refreshing and the monkey's uncle was delicious. The staff were funny and super friendly. They even gave us a free cookie We'll be back tomorrow!
(5)Matt D.
Some of the best coffee I think I have had in years. You have the water, you have the lobsters, you have the lighthouses, and here you can get a great latte, coffee, or whatever else drink and snack you need for walking around Bar Harbor or taking a whale watching tour across the street.
(5)Ann B.
Well, I wish it was a great cappuccino but it really was not. It may be that my expectations are too high (but really they are not). A cappuccino needs to taste and drink like a cappuccino, and mine tasted like over-roasted beans strained with water, and a lot of foam on top. The folks inside were nice enough, the blueberry muffin was pretty good - not too sweet and the texture was good. I was disappointed but I haven't had a good cap yet in BH. I will keep looking.
(3)Jimmy S.
My husband and I are spending our honeymoon in Bar Harbor and ran across the Coffee Hound. My husband, who drinks coffee, has determined it is the only good place to go for coffee in town. I don't drink coffee, but I loved their white chocolate. We also had the pleasure to meet the owners - great people! And as a special treat in honor of our marriage they gave us a macaroon, which apparently is a wedding tradition. This place is a real gem in Bar Harbor!
(5)lisa s.
You gotta love a guy who is this crazy for dogs! The toasted bread on the lobster roll was excellent. Service is very enthusiastic, and watching this guy greet the dogs is hilarious.
(5)Amy S.
We got two lobster rolls that were definitely not as big as some of these pictures indicated, and they changed their pricing to $16.99 with a pickle and a small bag of chips. They do put dill on their lobster roll recipe but it was dried dill which really lacked flavor...another disappointment. I guess the rolls were good but from what the other reviews set me up to expect I couldn't help but be disappointed.
(3)Ron G.
The owner was super friendly and welcoming. I had the lobster roll first thing in the morning and it was a great choice =] The texture was great but even the bread they served it on was on point. I also ordered the Acadia Sunrise. Super good but so sweet that I couldn't finish it all.
(4)Ron W.

Coffee was great. However, some of the service team was friendly and some had attitude. Very little seating in this place but a nice park is just across the street. I recommend.

I've lived in Manhattan my whole life, so I've had my fair share of good and bad coffee spots. My mom and I were craving coffee and stumbled upon this place. All I can say is BEST COFFEE EVER. Like, who else has bananas foster syrup for coffee?! That actually tastes like it? I had the Monkeys uncle frappe, and it was to die for! It had the bananas foster and also hazelnut syrup. My sister got the same thing without coffee, and my mom got the mounds frappe. The man ( I believe the owner) was very sweet and funny! He really interacted with customers and had fun with regulars. We bought coffee beans and brewed them; they're superb as well. I wish this was where I live :(
(5)Wheeler E.
Great coffee selection and discussion with owner. Ambience of shop very nice.... Nice job Coffee Hound...
(5)Dog Log F.
I had a double espresso and a lobster roll for lunch. Good lobster rolls. Good coffee. Not overcrowded with tourists. Friendly people behind the counter. I think I can get into this place.

Excellent coffee, excellent sevice, friendly...owner Chris made you feel like you were the only one in line when there were 3 people behind you. Going back every morning til we leave!

So we did our yearly trip to Bar Harbor. It drizzled on the way up, while we were there and on the way back. The high point of the trip was Coffee Hound. Nice coffee but really perfect blueberry muffins. Only way to have better is to make it yourself
(5)Mengting G.
My boyfriend and I visited Bar Harbor and searched online to find coffee hound coffee bar. We bought a lobster roll and a Cadillac cooler before we leave. The best part, free sweet treat of blueberry pie as blueberry searcher. :) :) :)

I am only giving 5 stars, because, unfortunately is all that is allowed. Coffee Hound opened last year, I didn't really give it another look, because I have my routine when I visit Bar Harbor. The place I normally get coffee was closed one Sunday morning. Welp, so much for my daily routine. I walked a couple blocks to CH. Door was open, I walked in. Right off the bat, there was an energy about this hole in the wall coffee shop. Music playing, gallery art hanging on the walls, big windows to let the light in, and smiling, happy faces behind the counter. The coffee menu is written in chalk on one of the walls. Lattes, mochas, espresso, coffee (iced/hot), etc... I am a sucker for mocha. I ordered an Acadian Turtle Mocha. I talked a bit with Jennifer (owner). She is clearly passionate about what she does. I can get behind that. I sat at the bar window with my lady who was enjoying a Rocky Road Mocha. Hands down, the best mocha that has ever crossed my lips. I spent the day hiking, only to return later that afternoon to quench my thirst with a freshly squeezed... Yes, let me repeat that... FRESHLY SQUEEZED lemonade. Hit the spot. Did I return the following day? Is a frogs ass watertight? Do one-legged ducks swim in circles? Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back? Of course I did! Sunrise (light) Roast coffee to get me started. On this day, I also met Mr. Keegan (owner). Awesome guy. Happy, talkative, informative. Back to the Sunrise Roast... I thought before that I had tasted great coffee. The coffee at CH makes everything else taste like you are drinking water out of a buffalo's butthole. Now, I have no idea what that tastes like... But, I can guess. The next day, I had their medium roast (which has espresso in it), and it was even better! I'm pretty sure I got to the summit of Dorr Mountain in record time. I think by the 3rd day, we were getting the locals discount. Over the next several days CH kept us well caffeinated. Every day, we left with smiles on our face, and found ourselves laughing at something Chris had said. Their website, barharborcoffeehound.com… , says that they treat you like a local when you are on vacation... They treat you like family. You can find their menu here: barharborcoffeehound.com… Not only coffee, but lobster rolls, cookies, bagels (Thanks for the bagels, Chris), muffins, etc... Coffee Hound has earned my business, now, and forever. Stop by when you are in town. Grab a coffee, grab a chair, sit, relax and have Chris tell you a story or 72. :) Chris and Jennifer, thank you for having such an amazing shop. You guys rock. Keep up the good work, and we hope to see you again real soon.

I love this little coffee shop! They are super friendly and they let you bring you dog in! Also delicious signature drinks, Cadillac cooler is my favorite! Best lobster roll in Maine!
(5)Chryl E.
We found this little gem on our recent trip to Bar Harbor. My husband loved their coffee. I am not a coffee drinker, but I fell in love with their white hot chocolate. It was the best I've ever had! We went there every morning of our trip for coffee, white hot chocolate, muffins and quiche. The owner's were awesome and we enjoyed getting to know them. This shop is definitely worth a visit (or two, three or four) on your visit to Bar Harbor. Doug and Chryl, Indianapolis
(5)Michael M.
Amazing coffee and amazing service, owner is friendly and treats are delish, I'd give it 10 stars if I could! Best whoopee pie in town put all others to shame.

Being from the city, I've had some formidable cups of joe in my life time. smooth, spicy, bitter, you name it I've had it. I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked into the Coffee Hound this past Friday on holiday in Bar Harbor. I ordered the ginger spice iced chai latte, and to say it was delicious would be a harsh understatement. The tea was smooth yet spicy, natural tasting and a perfect creaminess without being overwhelmingly sweet or decadent. The owner was as nice as could be, allowing myself and sister to charge up our phones in his store after three days of hiking the Maine wilderness. The menu had an impressive array of creative drinks to choose from, all things adventurous and safe. The coffee Hound has left a large shoe to fill for the coffeehouses in Philly. i can't wait to stop here again when i return to beautiful Bar Harbor.
(5)Jeff B.
Delightful coffee in a great area! Recently visited this cafe several times during a vacation in the area. Had the Acadia turtle mocha a couple times a regular mocha And my wife got normal coffees but it was perfect every time. No complaints what so ever! Super friendly staff great coffee at a reasonable price highly recommend it if you're a coffee snob like me
(5)Neil G.
The coffee is fine (though no better than average in a real coffee city like SF). However, BEWARE: they only sell VERY LARGE cups. The smallest latte was 16oz., which is a ridiculously large amount of milk for a mid-afternoon drink. We did not check the menu first, but just asked for regular lattes, so we were shocked by the size. The price for the size was not out of line, but it was out of line for a standard order. IMHO, they are definitely taking advantage of tourists who expect the standard order to be somewhat like everywhere else in the world. If they offered a wider selection of sizes (or for those of you who like giant cups of coffee), I would have rated them four stars.
(2)Laura K.
Best place to get coffee in town . They use quality beans , the owner Chris is very friendly , the owner takes pride in his coffee, and they also serve great lobster rolls for a good price. I can't say enough good things about this place
(5)Katherine S.
Staff was friendly and coffee was good.
(4)Douglas B.
Perhaps the best espresso I have ever had. Exceptional service and very friendly folks.

We visited this coffee shop during our visit in Bar Harbor in June. We ordered a double espresso and a capuccino. Both were excellent. The guy behind the registry, Darin (sp? ) was extremely knowledgeable and explained in detail all coffees we inquired about. He patiently waited till we made our choices and courteously served us. Thanks to him we will highly recommend your coffee shop to family and friends who will visit Maine this summer. We will be back for your great coffee and service!

Love this coffee shop.. We tried everything here and each one was unique. The owner and his wife are really friendly & make sure every drink is made to perfection. Must visit!
(5)Jake T.
Awesome choice of coffees! the cappuccinos and lattes are also excellent. The real deal here though, is the Lobster Roll. I would have never guessed that one could be this much better than the rest, but somehow they have done it! I guess it's Grandma's recipe.
(5)Juan L.
Delicious latte!! And pets are welcomed!
(5)Ryan P.
Top notch coffee and great service! They also know how to make a perfect espresso drink!
(5)Martin N.

(5)Allie R.
(4)Vivian C.
(4)PatrickJ T.

(5)Julian M.
(5)Jeremia F.
I came here for coffee and was very pleased with their excellent take on a Cortado. This is an example of what having a great attitude can do to make your institution excel. Very fast and genuinely friendly service. I would recommend coffee here or the other five star place I'm going to review.
(5)Rachel R.
Long lines that are worth the quick wait. Fantastic coffee, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The dog theme spoke to my heart as a dog lover as well.
(4)Simone W.
(5)Carly L.
(5)Chelsea M.
(5)Ron G.
The owner was super friendly and welcoming. I had the lobster roll first thing in the morning and it was a great choice =] The texture was great but even the bread they served it on was on point. I also ordered the Acadia Sunrise. Super good but so sweet that I couldn't finish it all.

(3)Adam M.
(5)Jasmina M.
(5)R S.
Love this coffee shop.. We tried everything here and each one was unique. The owner and his wife are really friendly & make sure every drink is made to perfection. Must visit!
(5)Joann T.
Excellent coffee, excellent sevice, friendly...owner Chris made you feel like you were the only one in line when there were 3 people behind you. Going back every morning til we leave!
(5)Vivian C.
(4)Grahame G.
(5)PatrickJ T.
(5)Cynthia D.
(5)Julian M.
(5)Jeremia F.
I came here for coffee and was very pleased with their excellent take on a Cortado. This is an example of what having a great attitude can do to make your institution excel. Very fast and genuinely friendly service. I would recommend coffee here or the other five star place I'm going to review.
(5)Rachel R.
Long lines that are worth the quick wait. Fantastic coffee, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The dog theme spoke to my heart as a dog lover as well.
(4)Simone W.
(5)Carly L.
(5)Chelsea M.
(5)Ron G.
The owner was super friendly and welcoming. I had the lobster roll first thing in the morning and it was a great choice =] The texture was great but even the bread they served it on was on point. I also ordered the Acadia Sunrise. Super good but so sweet that I couldn't finish it all.
(4)Ron W.
Jen and Chris know their business! They have some great coffee options and a HUGE menu. The double lobster roll is really to die for. They are located right downtown, across from a park with some of the most beautiful views of the ocean. Only drawback is they don't have parking, but they are totally worth a short walk!
(5)Al B.
(5)Allie R.
(4)Stephanie C.
(3)Susan E.
(3)Pamela L.
JUST DO IT!
(5)Jee C.
(4)Martin N.
Coffee was great. However, some of the service team was friendly and some had attitude. Very little seating in this place but a nice park is just across the street. I recommend.
(4)Anna M.
(5)Jacob V.
(5)Megan B.
(5)Mengting G.
My boyfriend and I visited Bar Harbor and searched online to find coffee hound coffee bar. We bought a lobster roll and a Cadillac cooler before we leave. The best part, free sweet treat of blueberry pie as blueberry searcher. :) :) :)
(5)Sarah C.
